Adam's Life History Facts that need to be known According to the
Qur'an and the Bible
Wisdom: Understanding Differences, not looking for faults
Introduction
Adam
was the first human to live on earth. The story of Adam's life story,
inspires all mankind. Because Adam lived not from
the result of biological processes, but lived from the creation of the Almighty
(God) who existed before everything in this world. Although Adam was the
first human being directly created by God, Adam did not receive an order from
God to record the history of the creation of Heaven and earth and everything in
it, including the creation of himself.

Information
about Adam's life, from the beginning of his life and the development of his
descendants, comes from God's Revelation delivered through Prophet
Moses. God's revelation was first delivered by God directly to Prophet
Moses.Prophet Moses was the first person to write God's revelation. There
are people who have lived spiritually with God, for example Enos and Enoch, but
God has not yet revealed the history of the creation of Heaven and Earth and
its contents to Enos and Enoch.
The
Word of God that Prophet Moses received is the result of God's handwriting
directly (10 laws on 2 stone logs), others in the form of speech (Word) to
Prophet Moses. Further, the Word of God that was delivered to Prophet
Moses was actualized in the form of manuscripts, then compiled into
a book known as the Torah Book. The Torah is a guide to human life in
spirituality (life in the Spirit) for Jews known as Judaism. The Torah is
also a guide to the spiritual faith of Christianity called the Bible (Old
Testament). It is in the Old Testament (Torah) that the history of
Adam's life is told in full.
Since
the existence of Islam which was taught by Muhammad (Prophet Muhammad SAW),
Adam has been called the first Prophet of God on this earth. All Muslims believe
that Adam was the first prophet. Meanwhile, according to Christianity, Ad
is a human being chosen and used by God to convey His will in building intimate
relationships, not a prophet.
Was
Adam a prophet of God or not?, the answer must be seen from the perspective of
the Koran and the Bible. Whatever the facts obtained from
the two books are true. Now to find out whether Adam was a
prophet or not, this paper presents things that support the history
of Adam's life according to what is written and implied in the Qur'an and the
Bible.
The
references for this article are only sourced from the Koran and the Bible,
without interpreting the contents of the verses referred to. The method of
interpreting the verse is by looking at the contextual context of the text
written in the verse. Deliberately no comparison of the meanings of hadith
and religious and historical books is made, so that they are purely guided by
the Word of God contained in the Koran and the Bible.
By
only being guided by the Koran and the Bible, it is hoped that all parties will
realize the fact that the Koran and the Bible are truly God's Words that tell
the history of Adam's life from the point of view stated in the verses of the
two different books.
Quranic Facts about Adam's Life History
Here
are the verses of the Quran, which narrate the life of Adam from the beginning
of creation and his life as a Prophet of God.
1. Place of Adam's Creation
According to the Qur'an, Adam was created in Heaven, the
following are references to the Qur'anic verses that tell of the creation of
Adam.
1) And (remember) when your Lord
said to the angels, "I want to make a caliph on earth." They
said, "Do you want to make people who destroy and shed blood there, while
we glorify you and sanctify your name?" He said, "Indeed, I know
what you do not know." ( QS. Al-Baqarah-2: 30).
2) And He taught Adam the names
of all (things), then He showed them to the angels, saying, "Tell me the
names of all these (things), if you are the truth!" ( QS.
Al-Baqarah-2: 31).
3) He (Allah) said, "O
Adam! Tell them the names!” After he (Adam) mentioned their names, He
said, "Didn't I tell you that I know the secrets of the heavens and the
earth, and I know what you reveal and what you hide?" ( QS.
Al-Baqarah-2: 33).
4) And (remember) when We said to
the angels, "Prostrate before Adam!"So they prostrated except the
devil. He rejects and is proud of himself, and he is among the
disbelievers. ( QS. Al-Baqarah-2: 34).
5) " Then when I have completed the event and I
have breathed My spirit(creation) into it; so bow down to him by
prostrating." (QS. Sad-38: 72)
6) And (remember), when We said
to the angels, "Prostrate yourselves before Adam", then they
prostrated except for the devil. He said, "Shall I prostrate to the
one whom You created from the earth?" (QS. Al-Isra'-17: 61).
7) And (remember) when We said
to the angels: "Prostrate before Adam, so they prostrate except Iblis. He
is from the jinn, so he disobeys the command of his Lord. Should you take him
and his descendants as leaders other than- My, while they are your enemies?
Very bad is the devil as a substitute (from God) for the unjust
people. (QS. Al-Kahfi-18: 50).
8) And (remember) when We said
to the angels, "Prostrate before Adam", they prostrated except for
the devil. he opposes" (QS. Thaha-20:116).
9) So We said: "O Adam,
verily this (devil) is an enemy to you and to your wife, so do not let him
expel you both from heaven, which will cause you harm. (Surah
Thaha-20:117) .
10) Indeed, We created you
(Adam), then We formed your body, then We said to the angels: "Prostrate
before Adam", so they prostrated except for the devil. He is not
among those who prostrate. (QS. al-A'raf-7: 11).
11) Allah said: "What
prevented you from prostrating (to Adam) when I told you?" Answered
the devil "I am better than him: You created me from fire while you
created him from earth". (QS. al-A'raf-7: 12).
12) God said: "Come down
from that paradise; because you should be proud of yourselves in it, then come
out, indeed you are among the despised". ". (QS. al-A'raf-7:
13).
Notes in the Qur'an about the creation of man
(Adam) and the place where Adam was created are contained in 6 Surahs of the
Qur'an and are summarized from 12 verses. These verses show that, before
the creation of man (Adam), God conveyed His plan to make the Caliph on
Earth. The caliph in question is a human being who will be created from
the ground.
It is not stated where Adam was created, but it
is implied that Adam was created on Earth. This can be seen from the
sentence " I want to make a caliph on earth ." Consists
of the subject "I", the predicate "to make", the object
"Khalifah" and the description of the place "on Earth",
while the adverb of time "will (will). From the details of the
elements of this sentence it is implied that the Khalifah who will be made God
is located on Earth.
Furthermore, from the statement
sentence: "Shall I prostrate to the person You created from
clay?". This sentence gives information that man (Khalifah) was
created from soil, (earth refers to Earth). Thus it can be concluded that
Adam was created on Earth. However, a new question arises, if humans were
created on Earth, why is it written in another verse that humans live in Heaven? Is
it after the creation of Adam on Earth, then the two humans (Adam and Eve were
brought down to Heaven? By referring to the verse that God explicitly commands
Adam and Eve to live in Heaven. It is implied that Adam and Eve were created in
Heaven.
After God created Adam, God communicated the
names of things to Adam.God then brought Adam to the Angels and the Devil, then
told the Angels to bow down to Adam. Angels prostrated to Adam, but Satan
refused to prostrate to Adam. There are two possibilities why the devil
did not prostrate to Adam, the first is according to the devil's statement that
he is better than man. Because he (devil) was created from fire, while man
was created from earth. The second possibility, because God only ordered
the Angels to bow to Adam. In accordance with what is written in the
verses above. Devils, including the Kafir group because they refused God's
command to bow down to Adam. Then God told the devil to come down from
heaven. The meaning that can be understood from this context is that the
devil was expelled from heaven.

2. The Origin (Material) of Adam's Creation
1) Verily the parable (creation)
of Isa for God, like (the creation) of Adam.He created it from the ground, then
He said to it, "Be!" So be that thing.(QS. Ali Imran-3: 59)
2) "And verily, We created man (Adam) from
dry clay from black mud that was shaped." (QS. Al-Hijr-15: 26)

mud given shape."(QS. Al-Hijr-15: 28)
4) "And (remember), when We said to the
angels, "Prostrate yourselves before Adam," then they prostrated,
except for Iblis. He (Iblis) said, "Should I prostrate to the one whom You

5) "(Allah) said, "What prevented you
(so that) you did not prostrate (to Adam) when I commanded you?" (Iblis)
replied, "I am better than him.You created me from fire, while you created
him from earth." (QS. Al-A'raf -7: 12)
6) He is the One who created you from one self
and from him He created his wife, so that he would be happy with her. So
after mixing it, his wife became pregnant with a light pregnancy, and she
continued to feel light (for some time). Then when he felt heavy, both of
them (husband and wife) begged God, their Lord, saying: "Indeed, if You
give us a pious child, we will certainly be among the grateful . (QS. Al A'raf -7: 189) )
7) "And verily We have created man from the
essence (felt) of the earth (QS. Al-Mu'minun-23: 12)
8) "Then We made it semen (stored) in a firm
place (womb)." (QS. Al-Mu'minun-23: 13)
9) "Then, We made that semen stick to
something, then We made that stick to a lump of flesh, and that lump of flesh
We made into bone, then We wrapped the bone with flesh. Then, We made it into a
creature that (shaped ) other. Glory be to Allah, the best
Creator." (QS. Al-Mu'minun-23: 14)
10) "Indeed, the parable (creation) of 'Isa

'Imran-3: 59)
11) "(Remember) when your Lord said to the
angels, "Surely I will create man from the earth." (QS. Sad-38: 71)
12) And do the disbelievers not

them; And We created all living things from water, so why do they not
believe? (Surat al-Anbiya-21: 30)
13) He created man from "dry
earth" like pottery. (QS. Al-Rahman- 55: 14)
14) He has created man from a
clot of blood," (QS. Al Alaq-96: 2)
15) "Then ask them (the polytheists of
Mecca): 'Are they the ones that are stronger in their events or what We have
created?' Verily We have created them from clay. ( QS
Ash-Saffat-37: 11)
16) And He (also) created man
from "water", then He made that man (have) offspring and Prophet
Musaharah and your Lord is Almighty. ( QS. Al Furqan-25: 54)
17) "Who beautifies all that
He created and who started the creation of man from clay" ( Surah As Sajdah-32: 7)
18) He has created man from semen, it turns out
that he is a real objector (QS An Nahl-16: 4)
19) Oh man! Fear your God
who created you from one (Adam), and (Allah) created his mate (Eve) from
himself; and from both of them God raised many men and women. Fear
God in whose name you ask each other, and (maintain) family ties. Indeed,
God always cares and watches over you. (QS. An Nisa-4: 1)
The original material for
human creation (Adam and Eve) comes from 14 different Surahs of the
Koran, and is compiled from 18 verses. It is possible that there are still
other verses that have not been compiled here, please readers to explore them,
so that they can add more insight. The information obtained from what is
expressed and implied in the verses of the Qur'an shows that, Adam was created
from materials:
a. Land;
b. Dry clay and black mud,
c. Dry soil like pottery,
d. Mani,
e. The essence of the soil
(feel) that is made into semen,
f. Clay.
g. water, and
h. A clot of blood.
Not expressly and implicitly in the Qur'anic
verse which tells about the origin of the land used to create
Adam. A detailed explanation of the origin of the land of
Adam's creation comes from the Hadith of Muhammad and several other hadiths
which state that the land of Adam's creation came from 14
countries. However, the Hadith information is not used as a reference on
the grounds that this writing really presents the contents of God's Word which
is listed in the Qur'an.
Eve was created from Adam. There is no
specific explicit or implied explanation of the Qur'anic verse as presented
above which tells that Eve was created from which organ or body part of
Adam. (Explanations from several hadiths state that Eve was created from
Adam's rib which was taken while Adam was sleeping). But the information
from the Hadith is not a reference for this writing.
In the Qur'anic verse, the
process of Adam's creation is written as follows:
a. From the essence of the earth
is made semen;
b. From semen is made something
sticky;
c. From something that clings to
flesh;
d. From flesh to bones;
e. Next, the bones are wrapped
in meat.
f. Then, God made other shaped
creatures.
3. Where Adam lived after he was created
1) And We said, "O
Adam! Stay you and your wife in heaven, and eat with the delights (of
various foods) that are there as you like. (But) don't go near this tree,
later you will be among the wrongdoers!". ( QS. Al-Baqarah-2:
35)
2) (And God said): "O Adam,
dwell you and your wife in paradise and eat (fruits) wherever you like, and do
not approach this tree, then you two will be among the people the
cruel". (QS.
Al-A 'raf-7: 19).
From these two verses of the Qur'an, it is
clearly written that the Word of God states that Adam and Eve lived in
Heaven. Then God told them both that, eat a variety of foods,
fruits that are in heaven that they like. But don't go near this tree
(Tree of immortality/Khuldi), which makes them tyrants.
4. Adam and Eve Sinned
1) Then the devil whispers evil
thoughts to them in order to reveal their aurat (which has been
covered). And (Satan) said, "Your Lord only forbids you two to
approach this tree, so that you two do not become angels or do not become
eternal people (in heaven). (QS. Al-A 'raf-7: 20).
2) he (Satan) entices them with
deceit. When they tasted (the fruit of) the tree, they saw its nakedness,
so they began to cover it with the leaves of Paradise. The Lord called out
to them, "Didn't I forbid you from the tree and I said that Satan is a
real enemy for both of you?" (Surat al-A 'raf-7:22).
3) Both of them said, "O
our Lord, we have wronged ourselves. If You do not forgive us and give us
mercy, we will surely be among the losers." (QS. Al-A 'raf-7:
23).
4) "Then Satan
whispered evil thoughts to him, saying, "O Adam, will I show you the tree
of khuldi and the kingdom that will not perish?" (Surat Taha-20:120)
5) "So they both ate from
the fruit of the tree, then their private parts became visible to them and they
both began to cover them with the leaves (that are in) heaven, and Adam
disobeyed God and he went astray" (QS. Thaha-20:121) ).
6) Then Adam received some words
from his Lord, and then He accepted his repentance. Indeed, Allah is Most
Accepting of repentance, Most Merciful. (Surat al-Baqarah 2: 37)
The fall of Adam and Eve into sin is compiled
from 3 Surahs of the Koran as many as 6 verses. The information obtained
from this verse shows that Adam and Eve sinned because of the devil's trick to
make their nakedness visible which was previously covered. Because of the
devil's whisper they both tasted, ate the fruit of the khuldi tree, which God
forbade before.
Adam and Eve realized that they had wronged themselves,
and asked God for forgiveness. Then God accepted Adam's repentance and
gave a few sentences. Some of God's words that Adam received were not stated in
what God's words meant. God's sentence to Adam may be confirmed in the
verse " And
indeed We ordered Adam first, so he forgot (the commandment), and We did not
find him a strong will. ” The
implied meaning of this verse is "when Adam and Eve regretted their
actions of eating a tree that God had forbidden to approach, God accepted their
repentance". This means that God's words are related to the core of
God's commands, so that they are not influenced by the influence of the devil
that makes them unjust and expelled from Heaven.
5. Adam and Eve were brought down to Earth
1) Then Satan deceived both of
them from Paradise so that they were both expelled from (all pleasures) while
they were there (Paradise). And We said, "Come down! Some of you
become enemies to others. And for you there is dwelling and pleasure on
earth for an appointed time.” ( Surat al-Baqarah 2: 36)
2) We said, "Come down all
of you from heaven! Then if My guidance really comes to you, then whoever
follows My guidance, there will be no fear for them and they will not be
sad." QS. Al-Baqarah-2: 38)
3) God said: "Come down,
all of you, some of you are enemies to others. And you have a place of
residence and pleasure (a place to find life) on the face of the earth until
the appointed time". (QS. Al-A'raf-7: 24).
4) God said: "On that earth
you live and on that earth you die, and from that earth (also) you will be
resurrected. (QS. Al-A'raf-7: 25).
5) O son of Adam, indeed We have
sent down to you clothes to cover your private parts and beautiful clothes for
adornment. And the clothes of piety are the best. That is part of the signs
of God's power, hopefully they always remember. (QS. Al-A'raf-7: 26).
6) God said: "Come down
both of you from heaven together, some of you will be enemies to others. So if
guidance comes to you from Me, then whoever follows My guidance, he will not go
astray and will not suffer. (QS. Thaha-0:123).
The verse of the Koran which
tells about Adam and Eve being sent down on Earth from heaven, is compiled
from 6 verses in 3 Surahs of the Koran. The information
contained in the above verse shows that, God commanded Adam and Eve to come
down to earth. God states that:
a. God said to Adam and Eve
"Come down both of you on the face of the Earth"
b. On Earth people live, die and
are resurrected;
c. On Earth there is dwelling
and pleasure;
d. On Earth where humans seek
life;
e. On Earth, humans are hostile
to one another;
f. God has sent down clothes to
cover human private parts, beautiful clothes for adornment and clothes of piety
that are better for people.
g. God said, His guidance will
come to people on Earth, so whoever follows His guidance will not be harmed.
Information about how and where Adam and Eve
came down to Earth, is not specifically stated or implied in the Koran. By
just reading the Qur'an, humans would ask? Who brought Adam and Eve on
Earth by how they came down on Earth and where they were when they arrived on
Earth. Information about this question can only be found in the
Hadith. Therefore, it is not described here, because this paper only
refers to the contents of the Qur'anic verse.
6. History of Adam's Life on Earth
1) And tell them (Muhammad) the
truth about the story of the two sons of Adam, when they both offered a
sacrifice, then the (sacrifice) of one of them (Habil) was accepted and that of
the other (Qabil) was not accepted. He (Qabil) said, "Indeed, I will
surely kill you!" He (Abel) said, "Indeed, Allah only accepts
(good deeds) from the pious." (QS. al-Maidah-5:27).
2) "Truly, if you (Qabil)
move your hand towards me to kill me, I will not move my hand towards you to
kill you. I fear God, the Lord of the universe." (QS.
al-Maidah-5:28).
3) Then lust (Qabil) pushed him
to kill his brother, then he (actually) killed him, so he was one of the
losers. (Surat al-Maidah-5:30).
4) Then God sent a raven to dig
the ground to be shown to him (Qabil). How should he bury his brother's
body. Qabil said, “Oh, woe is me! Why can't I do like this crow, so
that I can bury the body of my brother?" So he is one of those who
regret. (QS. al-Maidah-5:31).
5) O son of Adam, don't you ever
be deceived by the devil as he took your parents out of heaven, he took off
their clothes to show them their private parts. Verily he and his
followers see you and a place where you cannot see them. Verily, We have
made the devils leaders for those who do not believe. (QS. Al-A'raf-7:
27).
6) And indeed We have glorified
the children of Adam, We have transported them on land and in the sea, We have
given them sustenance from the good and We have given them a perfect advantage
over most of the creatures that We have created. (QS. Al-Isra'-17:
70).
The history of Adam's life on Earth
is compiled from the information of the Word of God found in 6
verses from 3 Surahs of the Qur'an. The information obtained is:
a.
God
told Muhammad to tell the story of Adam's son, Cain and Abel, as they made
sacrifices to God.
b.
Abel's
offering was accepted by God, because Abel was devoted (fearing) of
God. while Qabil's offering was not accepted by God, because Cain did not
fear God;;
c.
As a
result of Qabil's offering not being accepted by God, then there was an
intention (lust) for Cain to kill Abel. Then Cain became a loser for
killing Abel, and finally he regretted it;
d.
Cain
buried Abel's body because he received instructions from the Crow sent by God.
e.
God
told the son of Adam not to be deceived by Satan, because God has made
Satan the leader of those who do not believe;
f.
God
honored the son of Adam and gave him the advantage of good fortune.
Here is some information summarized from the verses
of the Koran about Adam. If only based on the Koran, the reader does not
know things related to the history of Adam's life as a Prophet on
Earth. To find out detailed information about Adam's life
history, you can read books affiliated with Islamic preaching, and some
Hadith. This paper purely expresses the facts contained in the verses of the
Qur'an without referring to religious books and Hadith.
7. God's command to Adam and his family.
1) O descendants of
Adam! Wear your nice clothes at every (entering) mosque, eat and drink,
but don't overdo it. Indeed, Allah does not like people who are
extravagant. (QS. Al-A 'raf-7: 31).
2) O descendants of Adam! If
there come to you messengers from among yourselves, who narrate My verses to
you, then whoever is pious and makes amends, then there will be no fear for
them, and they will not be saddened. (QS. Al-A 'raf-7: 35).
3) And (remember), when your
Lord brought out the descendants of the children of Adam from their wombs and
God took testimony against their souls (saying): "Am I not your
Lord?" They replied: "True (You are our Lord), we are
witnesses".(We did that) so that on the Day of Judgment you would not say:
"Surely we (sons of Adam) are the ones who are careless about this (the
oneness of God)",(QS. al-A'raf-7: 172).
4) "Didn't I
command you, O Bani Adam, that you should not worship Satan?Verily the devil is
a clear enemy for you" (QS. Yasin-35: 60).
5) and you shall worship
Me. This is the straight path. (QS. Yasin-35: 61).
God's command to Adam and his
descendants on Earth, gathered from two surahs of the Qur'an, namely QS Al Araf
and QS Yasin. Four verses from these two Surahs of the Qur'an show that
God commanded Adam and his descendants, as follows:
a.
God
told Adam's Grandchildren to wear clean clothes when entering the Mosque;
b.
Do
not eat and drink in excess, for God does not like excessive people;
c.
God
told Adam's descendants, if Messengers come from among themselves to tell God's
verses, then whoever is pious and makes amends so that they do not become sad
people;
d.
God
conveyed to the descendants of Adam, to testify that their God is One, so that
they do not say that they are people who are unaware of the unity of God;
e.
God
commanded the Children of Adam not to worship Satan, because Satan is the enemy
of man;
f.
God
commanded the Children of Adam to worship Him. He is the
straight path.
These are 6 important points that God commanded
the Descendants of Adam. There is no explicit or implied specific information
between God and Adam in carrying out his mission as Caliph on Earth. This
indicates that Adam's personal relationship with God was cut off spiritually
and physically. For the ins and outs of Adam's life on Earth, it can be
read in books on the life history of the Prophet Adam by several
authors. This writing ignores all information outside the Qur'anic
verse. So that this presentation prioritizes the authenticity of the Koran in
preaching the Word of God to humans.
8. Prophethood of Adam
1) Verily, Allah has chosen
Adam, Noah, the family of Ibrahim and the family of Imran above all other
peoples (in their respective times), (QS. Ali Imran-3: 33)
2) They are the people who have
been blessed by God, namely the prophets from the descendants of Adam, and from
those whom We raised with Noah, and from the descendants of Abraham and Israel,
and from those whom We have guided and We have chosen. When the verses of
God the Most Merciful were read to them, they prostrated themselves and
wept. (QS. Maryam-19: 58)
From 2 verses of the Koran in
QS Ali Imran, and QS Maryam obtained information that:
a.
Adam,
Noah, the family of Abraham, the family of Imran and Israel have been chosen by
God above other peoples, namely as Prophets and have been guided by God;
b.
They
are the people who always prostrate and cry, if they hear God's verses being
read;
This verse of the Quran clearly states that
Adam was a prophet. However, it does not specifically tell what and how
Adam's role as a prophet of God on earth. There are no Qur'anic verses
that tell of God's revelation to Adam to be conveyed to his descendants or to
mankind in his life.
Adam's prophetic information can be known from
books about prophetic history. This article only presents what is in
the verses of the Qur'an. The greatness of prophetic history can only be
obtained through books written by several authors/writers of story books.
This is a fact written in the Qur'an about the creation of
Adam and the place where he was created, the origin (basic material) of Adam's
creation, the place where Adam lived after creation before he sinned, the fall
of Adam and sin, the descent of Adam and Eve on Earth, the life history of Adam
and his descendants on Earth, God's command to Adam and his descendants on
Earth and the prophethood of Adam. Overall, it can be concluded that the
Qur'anic information about Adam is not as much as the information obtained from
story books and Hadith. This paper does not take references from books
written by writers and Hadith, with the reason of wanting to point out the fact
that God's Word in the Qur'an is not as interpreted in some books and Hadith.
Of course, it is well known that the guidelines for Muslims
in believing in the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad are the Qur'an and
Hadith. This statement is 100% true, but the author has a hierarchical
point of view that relates to the relationship between the truth of God and
human knowledge. Of course, all agree that God is omniscient and
omniscient, while humans have limitations in everything, sight, hearing,
memory, the range of knowing past events, limited data, historical information
and so on.
Many things can be questioned about the
contents of the Hadith, but in this paper two examples are presented related to
the descent of Adam and Eve on Earth and the origin of the land for the
creation of Adam as follows:
A. The descent of Adam, the Devil's Eve and the
Snake from Heaven to Earth,Thabrani narrated from Abdullah bin Umar:
· Adam, descended on the land of India.
· Eve was taken down in Jeddah
· In an effort to find Eve, God ordered Adam to come to Makkah, to
perform the Hajj
· Adam met Eve in Arafah, precisely in Jabal
Rahmah. After that, they both perform tawaf by going around the Kaaba
seven times.
Then go to Sham (Syria) and die there." (HR Thabrani).
· The devil was sent down in the land
of Maisan , which is the land between Basrah and Wasith.
· Snakes were sent down in the land of Asbahan
(Iran). At-Tabari narrates that:
· Bakkah (Mecca) The first house of worship on Earth
- Allah commanded the angels to build a house on earth and that
they surround it (tawaf). This happened before the creation of Adam.
- The Kaaba was first built by an angel, then continued by Prophet
Adam AS, then continued by Prophet Syit son of Prophet Adam
- Then, the construction of the Kaaba was perfected by Prophet
Ibrahim AS with his son, Ismail AS.
B. Origin of the land to create Adam, the contents of the Hadith as
follows:
1. Narrating to us Abu Nabi Musa al-Ash'ari said that the Messenger
of Allah said, "Indeed, Allah created Prophet Adam from a handful of soil
from all parts of the earth. Then the children of the descendants of
Prophet Adam came from those parts of the earth, among them there are red,
black and among them there are also airy, sad, less good and good . (Abu Daud Sulaiman as-Sijistani, Sunan Abi Daud , jus 4 page 222)
2. The explanation that the land used comes from
Earth, as follows:
a. After Angel Jibril , Angel Mikail , Angel Israfil failed
to take land from the earth, then God ordered Angel Israel to carry out the task and urged the earth not to
refuse even though the earth swore to refuse to give land. Angel Izrail performs
his duties on God's command and
name.
b. So, Izrail came down to earth and said his
arrival was at the command of God and gave a mandate to the earth not to
protest which would enable the earth to disobey God. According to Ibn
Abbas, the earth and heaven were used to create Adam. The land is:
1) The land of Jerusalem ( Palestine ) - head for the place of glory to
put the brain and how to do things .
2) Land of Tursina Hill ( Egypt )
- ears for listening and receiving advice.
3) The land of Iraq - the forehead for
the place of prostration to God .
4) The land of Aden ( Yemen )
- face for a
place of adornment and beauty.
5) The land of the Al-Kautsar lake - an eye for
places of interest.
6) Land of Al-Kautsar - teeth for
sweets.
7) Land of the Temple ( Makkah )
- right hand for
earning a living and working together.
8) Land Paris ( France ) - left
hand for members to perform istinjak.
9) Land of Khurasan ( Iran )
- stomach for
a place of hunger.
10) The land of Babylon ( Iraq ) - genitals
for sexual organs and places of lust and temptation of the devil .
11) Land of Tursina ( Egypt )
- bones for
human strengthening.
12) Indian land - legs for
members to stand and continue.
13) Tanah Firdaus (Paradise)
- heart for
the place of trust, faith, and will.
14) The
land of Taif ( Saudi Arabia )
- tongue for
a place to say shahadah, gratitude and supplication.
By looking at the very detailed explanation as written in the
Hadith where humans descended to Earth and the origin of the land to create
Adam, a new question arises:
1. Where did the detailed information on the Hadith come from (the
companions of the Prophet)
2. Is human knowledge greater than God's knowledge?
3. Is there any historical support that shows that at the beginning
of the creation of Heaven and Earth there were countries as mentioned in the
Hadith to be the origin of taking land to create Adam?
4. Is there empirical geological and archaeological evidence
supporting the contents of the Hadts?
5. Is the position of Hadith hierarchically higher than the
Qur'an? So that it can provide an explanation of the contents of the
Qur'an whose meaning is not clear?
6. Did the writers of the Hadith have the science of geological
genetics that could describe in detail the origin of the soil in the parts of
the human body?
7. Did Adam and Eve ever record the location of their descent to
Earth from Heaven to which the Hadith writers refer?
If
the truth of the fact that the location of the descent of humans, demons and
snakes to earth and the origin of the soil as the material for Adam's creation
is true as written in the Hadith? Why was it not revealed directly to
Muhammad as the Prophet so that his companions would write down as a verse in
the Koran as the Word of God!
According to the author's perception, Hadith only provides
information of a physical nature, which can be understood and manifested by the
human senses. Meanwhile, the verses of the Qur'an are
metaphysical because they are spiritual information, which can only
be understood by spiritual faith. Therefore, the position of the Qur'an
above the position of Hadith, meaning that things that are not written in the
Qur'an, cannot be explained in detail by Hadith which requires physical
evidence.
Those are some of the reasons the author only refers to
information from the verses of the Koran, so as not to obscure the contents of
God's Word.
This writing aims to narrate the text into the contextual
meaning that comes from the text itself without any interpretation.
The writing of the Qur'an has its own specifications, the Qur'an
does not describe in detail a problem and is structured in explaining
a divine mystery material that is conveyed in a Surah of the Qur'an,
but the disclosure of a topic of problems that are divine and human life is
scattered and is in several Surahs in the Qur'an, so that information the
separate threads must be seen for the contextual meaning of the explicit and
implicit texts in the different suras of the Qur'an. In order to obtain a
complete formulation of the meaning of all the verses that explain one topic of
divine information.

Bible Facts about Adam's Life History
The
history of Adam's life since creation and the life story of Adam and his
descendants in the Bible are presented as follows:
1. The place of Adam's creation.
Genesis 1: 26-29; and Genesis 2:7, 18-19
1:26 God
said: "Let us make man in our image and
likeness , so that they may have dominion over
the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over the cattle and over the
whole earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth."
1:27
So God created man in His image, in
the image of God He created him; male and female he created them.
1:28 God
blessed them, then God said to them: "Be fruitful and multiply; fill the
earth and subdue it, have dominion over the fish of the sea and the birds of
the air and over all the animals that creep on the earth."
1:29 God
said, "Behold, I am giving you every herb that has seed on all the earth
and every tree that bears seed; this will be your food.
2:7
“The Lord God formed man from the dust of the ground and
breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; Thus man becomes a
living being.
2:18 The
Lord God said: "It is not good for man to be alone. I will make a helper
for him, who will match him."
2:19
Then the Lord God formed from the ground all the beasts of the forest and
all the birds of the air. He brought them all to the man to see how he
would name them; and as the name which the man gave to every living
creature, so shall the name of the creature be.
2:20
The man gave names to all the livestock, to the birds of the air and to all the
animals of the forest, but for himself he did not find a helper to match
him.
2:21 Then
the Lord God made the man sleep soundly; when he
slept, the Lord God took one of his ribs, and covered the place with
flesh.
2:22 And
from the rib which the Lord God had taken from man, He built a woman, and
brought her to the man.
2:23 Then
the man said: This is him, bone of my bone and flesh of my flesh. She will
be named a woman, because she was taken from a man.
2:24
That is why a man will leave his father and mother and unite with his wife, so
that the two become one flesh.
2:25
They were both naked, the man and his wife, but they were not ashamed.
3:20 The
man named his wife Eve, because she is the mother of all living things.

day you eat of it, you will surely die.
4. Humans Fall into Sin
Genesis 3:1-21
3.1. As for the snake ,
it is the most intelligent of all the animals on earth created by the Lord
God. The snake said to the woman: "Surely God said: Of all the trees
in this garden you must not eat their fruit,
right?"
3.2. Then the woman said to the snake: "
We can eat the fruit of the trees in this garden ,
3.3. but about the fruit of the tree in the middle
of the garden, God said: Do not eat or touch the fruit, you will die."

naked? Did you eat of
the fruit of the tree, which I forbade you to eat?"

beside me, she gave me the fruit of the tree, so I
ate."
3.13. Then the Lord God said to the woman:
"What have you done?" The woman answered: "The snake
tricked me , so I ate
it."
3.14. Then the Lord God said to the serpent,
"Because you have done this, you will be
accursed among all the cattle and among all the wild animals; with your belly
you will crawl and you will eat dust from the ground as
long as you live.
3.15. I will put enmity between you and this woman,
between your descendants and her descendants; his
offspring will bruise your head, and you will
bruise his heel."

travails in pregnancy very great ; with pain you will
give birth to your child; but you will lust after
your husband and he will rule over you."
3.17. Then His word to the man: "Because you
listened to the words of your wife and ate from the fruit of the tree, which I
commanded you: Do not eat from it, then the
ground will be cursed because of
you; with toil you will find your sustenance from the ground for the
rest of your life:
3.18. thorns and thistles ,
which they will produce for you, and the vegetation of the field for
your food;
3.19. with sweat you
will find your food, until you return to
earth, because that is where you were taken from; for you are dust and to
dust you shall return ."
3.20. The man named his
wife Eve , because she is the mother of all living

follows:
1.
The place of creation
of Adam according to the Qur'an is done in Heaven, while according to the Bible
the creation of Adam is on Earth;
2.
According to the
Qur'an, Adam was created from soil, dry clay and black mud, dry soil like pottery,
semen, the essence of soil (felt) which is made into semen, clay,
water, and a blood clot. According to the Bible, Adam was
created from the dust of the ground;
3.
Eve was created from
Adam according to the Koran, while according to the Bible Eve was created from
one of Adam's ribs;
4.
According to the
Qur'an, the process of Adam's creation was carried out in the following ways:
the essence of the soil was made into semen; of semen made something that
sticks; from something that sticks into flesh; of meat made into
bones, then the bones were wrapped in meat. According to the Bible, Adam's
creation was done by forming the dust of the ground and then exhaling the
breath of life into his nostrils;

In the Koran is not
written information about the life of Adam in detail and complete. In the
Bible, a complete history of the life of Adam and his descendants is written,
starting from Cain and Abel, as well as the descendants of Adam's third child,
Seth, to the birth of Noah, who is a descendant of the 9th generation (Nine) of
Adam.
9.
In the Qur'an it is
said that Abel's sacrifice was accepted by God because Abel feared God, while
Cain's sacrifice was not accepted by God because he did not fear God. It
is not written what Abel and Cain offered to God. In the Bible it is said
that Cain offered some of the produce of his land to God and his offering was
not accepted by God. Abel offered the Sacrifice of the firstborn of his
flock, and his offering was accepted by God.
10.
In the Qur'an it is
written, that God gave orders to Adam's descendants which are general in
nature, not specifically stated that the order was given through which Adam's
descendants. God's commandments include:
a. Wear good clothes when entering the mosque;
b. Do not eat and drink excessively;
c. Do not worship the devil;
d. Worship Me, the straight path.
Whereas in the Bible it is written that after
Adam fell into sin, God's spiritual relationship with humans occurred at:
a. God saved Cain from the curse of killing his
brother Abel, by putting a mark on Cain's forehead so that he would not be
killed by anyone who found him;
b. The descendants of Adam who first mentioned
God's name were Enos son of Set son of Adam;
c. Humans who live together and
according to God's will are Enoch son of Jaret, son of Mahalalel, son of Kenan,
son of Enos, son of Seth, son of Adam;
d. Enoch was raised by God to Heaven without going
through the process of death.
e. There is no explicit or implicit in the Bible
that there is a revelation from God to Adam to be conveyed to his descendants
(humans) after his fall into sin.
11.
The Koran says that
Adam is a prophet. Whereas in the Bible, there is not a single verse that
states God used Adam to convey His Word to humans. This means that Adam is not a
prophet.
Thus the factual information on the verses of the Qur'an
and the Bible that can be described from the texts written and implied in these
two divine religious books. Information that can be concluded that the
story of the history of Adam's life from the beginning of creation to the life
of Adam's descendants is different.
Of the 11 (eleven) final summary points, only one point, namely
point 9, has the same meaning even though it is contextually
different. While the other 10 points differ in content, meaning and
context from the verses that tell the history of Adam's life since his creation
to the lives of his descendants.
In connection with the facts disclosed in this paper, the author
hopes that all religious people from the two different religions, can
understand that the differences that exist, are not something that should be
debated to claim the truth of one another.
The differences that exist show that the contents of the verses
of the Qur'an and the Bible come from different sources. By realizing and
accepting the fact that the verses in the two books come from different
sources. Of course, the content of teaching is different, the purpose of
teaching is different, the method is different, and some of them must be
different even though the nomenclature for naming the object of teaching is the
same.
If these two people of different religions understand and accept
the fact that the teachings of these two religions are different, then
automatically they do not claim the truth from each other. Thus, every
religious adherent must respect the beliefs of religious people who are
different from their beliefs.
There may be readers who say, if the verses of
the Koran and the Bible come from different sources, why do both religions call
the same God, namely Allah. The answer will be elaborated on another
topic.
To simplify the logic of thinking of all parties, it can be
compared with the facts of life of other religions.
"Why Islam never clashes religious understanding with
Buddhism, Hinduism and Confucianism. Likewise, Christianity and
Catholicism have never clashed with the understanding of Buddhism, Hinduism and
Confucianism.
The answer:
Because the concepts of divinity, heaven and hell according to
Buddhism, Hinduism and Confucianism are different from the understanding of
Islam.Likewise with Christianity.
So far, between Islam and Christianity, the view is that God is
worshiped the same, heaven is the same destination, and the concept of hell is
also considered the same. So that the two religions claim the truth.
By looking at the fact that the contents of the verses of the Qur'an
and the Bible are different, then people realize that the source of this
religious teaching comes from a different God.
Hopefully useful for all people, continue to establish religious
tolerance.
